The libraries at Ohio State have created a portal for accessing their extensive digital resources. This includes full text digital journals, Micromedex, MD Consult, Drug Facts and Comparisons, Medline, and well over 20 other major databases. Most of these can be accessed by our students from the Internet anywhere in the world.
Ohio State University Libraries contains over 5 million volumes and receives approximately 43,000 serial titles. In addition to print holdings OSU Libraries has over 350 online databases and more than 11,000 full text on-line journal titles. There are 33 databases specifically in medicine and health including eight that give full text drug information. Pharmacy students can connect to virtually all of these resources from home. Copies of articles from print periodicals can sent via desktop delivery.
The Biological Sciences/Pharmacy Library, staffed by two librarians and two library assistants serves the College of Pharmacy. The library is open from 8:00 AM to 5 PM Monday-Friday. Please see the library's web page for more information: http://library.osu.edu/sites/biosci/
At the beginning of the program there is an orientation on using the library and students may call, e-mail or come in for reference help and research assistance at any time. Students also have access to materials throughout the state of Ohio via the Ohio Library and Information Network (OhioLINK), a consortium of 88 Ohio college and university libraries.
