The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy offers two curricula leading to the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree. The Entry-Level PharmD (ELPD) program is designed for students without a previous Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree, while the Non-Traditional PharmD (NTPD) program is for students who have previously earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree.
The Entry-Level Doctor of Pharmacy Program (ELPD) is a four-year graduate professional curriculum, leading to pharmacy licensure. Applicants are not required to have prior pharmacy education, any undergraduate major is acceptable as long as pharmacy prerequisites are met. Admission to the program is competitive and applicants are required to take the Pharmacy College Admissions Test (PCAT).
The Non-Traditional Doctor of Pharmacy Program (NTPD) provides the opportunity for licensed pharmacists at the baccalaureate level to enhance their ability to provide high quality pharmaceutical care and obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Course work in this program is taught solely through distance learning methods. The NTPD program accepted its final class in January of 2007.
