The Early Admissions Pathway (EAP) provides advanced admission to the College of Pharmacy's Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program for a select group of Honors freshmen. The program guarantees talented high school students the opportunity to enter the College of Pharmacy's PharmD program after the completion of a baccalaureate degree.

Prerequisites

The Admissions Committee of the College of Pharmacy will review all completed applications for the EAP program. Competitive applicants will be invited to campus for an interview. Following this interview, students will be notified of their final decision regarding admission by the College of Pharmacy admissions office.

To be eligible for admission to the EAP, current high school seniors must meet three requirements:

• Admitted to the Columbus campus of The Ohio State University for the Autumn quarter in which they intend to enroll
• Submit a complete EAP application no later than Friday, February 13, 2009 (details below)
• Gain and maintain University Honors affiliation. Honors criterion typically require a student to:
  • be in the top 10% of their high school graduating class
  • achieve a minimum score on one of two college entrance exams
    • ACT composite score of at least 30
    • SAT composite score of at least 1340

A complete EAP application consists of:

• 1 EAP Personal Data Sheets (PDF)
• 3 Personal Reference Forms (PDF)

PharmD Matriculation Requirements

Once admitted to the EAP program students must meet several academic requirements in order to successfully matriculate into the PharmD program as an EAP student. Students are required to:

• Attain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5 in all course work taken after admission to the EAP program and prior to enrollment in the PharmD program. Classes taken as part of a post-secondary option program will be excluded when calculating this grade-point average. This exclusion also applies to students who are part of the OSU Academy program.
• Satisfy all of the prerequisite classes for entry into the PharmD program.
• Complete a baccalaureate degree in a field of the student's choosing.
• Enroll in and maintain Honors affiliation in your undergraduate major/college.  Within the College of Pharmacy, please see AU 06 guidelines and requirements for honors students.
• Participate in EAP programs and activities.
