Biography
Prof. Makarich works as Director of Pharmacy at the OSU Student Health Center Pharmacy in the Wilce Building on Millikin Rd. He is also the Administrator of Ancillary Services which includes Radiology, Physical Therapy, Laboratory Medicine, and Pharmacy as well as being the Coordinator of Introductory Practice Experience at the College of Pharmacy.
I received a BS degree in Pre Med from Cleveland State University where I worked as a Med Tech in the Blood Bank at Cleveland Clinic. I then went to Ohio Northern University to get a Pharmacy degree while working nights in the laboratory. Upon getting my pharmacy degree, I worked for Kmart in various capacities including Pharmacy District Manager responsible for 4 states. I then went to Target Pharmacy where I worked as pharmacy manager and National Trainer working with new pharmacists hired to open stores across the country. After 8 years I came to OSU to work at the Student Health Pharmacy.
I have precepted over 250 students over the years and have received “Preceptor of the year Award” three times. I love working with pharmacy students in making the transition from the academic setting to the real practice world fun.

December, 2003 to Present: Director of Pharmacy OSU Student Health Center and Director of Ancillary Services.
January 1996 to Present: Coordinator of Introductory Practice Experience, Division of Pharmacy Practice and Administration, College of Pharmacy, The Ohio State University.
December, 1997 to December, 2003: Target Pharmacies as Pharmacy Manager and National Trainer for New Pharmacy Openings.
May, 1977 to December 1995: Kmart Pharmacies as Pharmacy Manager leading to Pharmacy District Manager.
