Pharmacy interns and pharmacy faculty are working with the residents of Seton West Assisted Living. Interns do brown bag medication reviews with residents as well as ongoing monitoring and counseling regarding their medication therapy and outcomes. Interns also collaborate and coordinate care with other health providers. For example a registered dietician was brought to Seton West to discuss the effects of diet on diabetes management. This ongoing relationship with seniors allows pharmacy interns to gain appreciation for the processes as well as the challenges of aging.
