Kroger Patient Care Center

Applications are currently being accepted for the College of Pharmacy's Ambulatory and Community Care Residency Programs (PGY1). Prospective applicants may visit the program's web site for instructions on how to apply to the program. Interested candidates should have an ASHP residency match number and be eligible for pharmacy licensure in the state of Ohio. The residency program activities include direct patient care, practice management, professional development, teaching and the discovery of new knowledge. For more information about the programs candidates may read the letter from the director (PDF). Applications received by January 4, 2008 will be assured of full consideration. On site interviews with qualified candidates will start at the beginning of January. Our mission is to empower pharmacists to be agents of change in community and ambulatory care by creating a culture of encouragement and accountability. The program will foster the development of knowledge, skills and abilities needed to pursue direct patient care and to educate current and future practitioners.

The purpose of the OSU College of Pharmacy Ambulatory and Community Care PGY1 Residency Programs is to provide the resident with experience and confidence to:
The residency program shall enable the resident to:
1. participate in the provision of pharmaceutical care and community pharmacy services, including but not limited to:
a. providing direct patient care
b. participating in practice management
c. developing, implementing or enhancing pharmacy services
d. providing an organized system for the provision of drug information
2. discover new knowledge by identifying, researching, planning and implementing a major project that includes outcomes measurement. The project shall be presented at the annual Great Lakes Residency Conference, submitted for presentation at an appropriate national pharmacy meeting and submitted for publication.
3. enhance educational skills through classroom and experiential teaching and public presentations.
4. promote professional development through participation in the ambulatory care practice group activities, attendance at local and national pharmacy meetings , participation in pharmacy organizations, and collaboration with other health care providers.
