The College of Pharmacy Doctoral Convocation Hooding & Awards Ceremony was held June 13, 2009, at Mershon Auditorium on campus. There were 116 graduates from the entry-level PharmD program and 19 from the non-traditional PharmD program. Of those students, 16 students graduated cum laude, 19 students graduated magna cum laude, and six students graduated summa cum laude
Several awards were presented at the event, including:
- The Miriam R. Balshone Memorial Award for Distinguished Teaching to Dr. Werner Tjarks
- The Faculty Award to the Outstanding Graduating Student of the Year to Victoria Tkacz
- The Stephen W. Birdwell Student Award to Travis Gilmore
