John M. Cassady and Kenneth M. Hale Diversity
Enhancement Award

This award given annually to a faculty or staff member recognizes accomplishments that go above and beyond a job role and its responsibilities.  Award recipients can be a member of a campus organization, student, alumni, faculty, staff, or a friend of the college who has implemented policies, procedures, and/or programs to enhance diversity on the basis of color, race, creed, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, sex, age, disability, veteran, or military service status, gender identity, economic status, political belief, marital status or social background. There can be more than one recipient in one year.

Full-time or part-time faculty; fair in testing and grading; clear course objectives and expectations; material is organized and presented in a clear and understandable fashion; lectures in a style which is conducive to note-taking and learning (pace, voice, stress of major points, etc.); willingness to solve problems of the student; stimulates thinking and arouses interest in his subject; respects the views and opinions of students.
