Division of Pharmaceutics & Pharmaceutical Chemistry
Pharmaceutics is a truly multidisciplinary specialization focused on the science of drug delivery. It answers questions such as: How are drugs delivered therapeutically to the body? What are the barriers to drug delivery in the body? How can technology overcome barriers and optimize drug action? What is the relationship between drug release and drug action? The underlying science of pharmaceutics includes chemistry, biology, and engineering fundamentals. Faculty in the division are recognized nationally in cancer chemotherapy, mass spectrometric methods, drug delivery systems, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics.
