Our local results with 33 patients showed that:
Persistence for this study was defined as a patient who started on medication and remained on medication through their last visit in the study. Compliance was assessed by patient self-report based on number of missed doses and refill timing. Noncompliant was defined as any patient who missed 5 or more doses or missed refilling a medication by more than 5 days. Prior to our service, 16 of 33 patients had previously been in a corporate cholesterol management program. This corporate program was part of a local company’s wellness program for employees. Patients received cholesterol screenings and information on diet and exercise. In that program, 13 of 16 patients consistently had total cholesterol concentrations >200 mg/dL over a three year period.
